THE OCEAN CONSERVANCY ANNOUNCES ITS ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN-UP (2019)

Join the Ocean Conservancy’s Fight For Trash Free Seas

Saturday, September 21st
8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Vilano Boat Ramp
101 Vilano Causeway, St. Augustine, 32084

Each year thousands of volunteers across the globe volunteer in the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup day. We need you to volunteer and help us clean up the Vilano boat ramp and the surrounding areas.

We welcome you to bring your kayak, canoe or paddleboard to help clean-up waterways and intracoastal areas.

Keepers of the Coast will provide re-usable trash bags, gloves, and hand sanitizer (etc.). No pre-registration is required.

Bring plenty of water, wear cool clothing and be safe about sun exposure.

Commemorate your dedication to the ocean with a 10% off coupon at Unify Tattoo. First 50 participants receive a 10% off coupon valid until January 1, 2020.

Here at Keepers, we take great pride in Keeping the Right Butts on the Beach so we have partnered with Beaches Go Green to send all of the cigarette butts collected on this day from other beach cleanups to be sent to TerraCycle. They will be recycling into something way cooler than a cigarette butt!

Keepers of the Coast volunteers have successfully prevented over 350,000 cigarette butts from entering our oceans since 2007. According to Ocean Conservancy, cigarette butts account for 32% of trash collected during this one-day effort. Since the International Clean-Up Day efforts began in 1986, almost nine million volunteers have picked up some 144 million pounds of trash worldwide.
